International luxury brand Jewelmer Joaillerie partners with the School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) Design Institute. The joint project was born in the hope of educating and building awareness among Filipino youth about the South Sea pearl as the national gem of the Philippines, as well as share its values on nature, sustainability and beauty. To instill a sense of urgency and inspire the young people to act and formulate initiatives of their own geared towards environmental conservation.
“In celebration of Jewelmer Joaillerie’s 35th Anniversary, and because of our belief in Philippine talent, it was a natural move for Jewelmer to approach SOFA, and work within their various programs,” said Jewelmer Joaillerie Deputy CEO Jacques Christope Branellec. “It is one of our ways of showing appreciation for the past three and a half decades.”
The partnership will commence with 3 courses that include Design, Fashion Marketing and Promotions, and a thesis project. Working closely with SOFA instructors, Jewelmer Joaillerie will open its doors to share its experiences with students. Round Table discussions with Principals and Top Management, Pearl Talks, and a Pearl Safari in Jewelmer’s pearl farm in Palawan will all be offered to the students to fully enhance their knowledge and immersion.
The partnership aims to begin an ongoing dialogue with the country’s future leaders, and continue the momentum of Philippine talents being recognized on a global scale. “This is the first step in what we hope is a long-term relationship between two pioneers who cultivate and promote Philippine talent and resources,” said Branellec. “We look forward to many similar future endeavors in service of the golden Philippine South Sea pearl.”
